"The story is lady oriented, their fantasy about life. There are continuous sexual scenes, abusive words, audio pornography and a bit sensitive touch about one particular section of society, hence film refused."..... A movie with title "Lipstick under my burka" is refused to certify by Censor Board of India with abovesaid words. I want you to firstly read abovesaid words once again and then read ahead ... India has always known for its deep rooted culture but many times it is misunderstood with "parda system". Ancient Indian History known for equal participation of women in religious and social affairs along with men , although mediaval history was not as glorious as before but it was so because internal and external aggression. Modern India since British time and after independence was not regressive but it was open with its deep rooted culture which was its strong forte and never held it back in progress and most importantly it never curtailed freedom of citizen especially gender based freedom as Indian society although was male dominating but most of household was actually managed by women.
With progression and digitization of India , freedom can no longer be restricted to few section of society especially with gender bias. Because , priorities of one over other based on gender can be forced but never be understood and accepted in modern times and any restriction cannot be welcome and blanket ban of any kind is big no no for the mature society because it is amount to dictation .
Role of sensor Board is to segregate viewers in different catogeries, rather to curtail freedom of speech and expression blindly unless it is danger to humanity and peace.
Reasoning of ban given at begining cannot be danger to humanity and peace.
Yes, because of title of movie, few extremist may feel annoyed but there is no reason to get offended because there are always few ,who dislike things. If things are reality or close to reality , no reason to worry or if things are fantasy or very far from reality then also no reason to be worried. If few thinks that it may leave bad effect on women they are understimating women because they are not weaker in any way rather modern women is strong headed and more courageous than men and they know , how and when to respond to things and they cannot be forced to think in specific way against her will.
International Women's Day is approaching and we are forcing ban on a movie just because it's title which may sound appealing or sleezy or just a title i .e. "Lipstick under my burka" and it is lady oriented and fantasy about life
movie with some explicit contents ....Is it enough to ban a movie because male dominating society does not like it for women or cannot take risk to expose such contents to women who still need surveillance of man to watch a thing ??
It is high time when women need to take charge for their own , it is their right to reject or appreciate things by their own and they don't need any forced surveillance on their thinking as they are independent and have strong head and shoulder to hold respect and responsibilities of family, society and nation.
